What is a Home Inspection?

Congratulations on your home purchase journey! At Blue Peak Inspections, we understand that buying a home can be an exciting but stressful process. That's why we're here to help you with one of the last steps - the home inspection.

A home inspection is a comprehensive examination of the physical condition of a property before you finalize the purchase. No home is perfect, so a home inspection can help you understand the home's systems and any potential defects that might require attention.

Think of a home inspection as a valuable tool to help you make an informed decision about your new home. During the inspection, a trained professional home inspector from Blue Peak Inspections will visually examine the readily accessible components of the building, including the foundation, roof, walls, electrical systems, plumbing, heating and cooling systems, and more. They will then provide you with a detailed report on their findings.

Our report is an essential resource that can serve as a "manual" for your home. It will teach you what you need to know about the property and how to maintain and take care of it. For example, the report might include information about any repairs or upgrades that are needed, as well as recommended maintenance tasks and schedules.

Overall, our home inspection report can be an invaluable resource that empowers you to make informed decisions about your new home. It will give you peace of mind knowing that you have a thorough understanding of the property and what it will take to keep it in good condition.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: What is a home inspection?

A: A home inspection is an evaluation of the condition of a home's major systems and components. It is intended to give you a better understanding of the property's overall condition and identify any areas that may require repairs or maintenance.

Q: What does your home inspection cover?

A: Our standard home inspection covers the major systems and components of the home, including the roof, exterior, interior, foundation, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and appliances. We may recommend additional inspections or tests for specific concerns that are outside the scope of a standard inspection, such as septic or well systems.

Q: What doesn't your home inspection cover?

A: Our inspection does not include anything that is inaccessible, dangerous, or not visible, such as underground pipes or wiring, hidden mold or asbestos, or anything located inside walls or ceilings. We also do not inspect for pests or rodents, or cosmetic issues like paint or wallpaper.

Q: How much does a home inspection cost?

A: Our home inspection pricing starts at $349, and pricing is dynamically based on the size and age of the home, so you can get an accurate quote by contacting us directly here.

Q: How long does a home inspection take?

A: A standard home inspection typically takes 2-3 hours, depending on the size and complexity of the home. We encourage clients to arrive at the last 30 minutes of the scheduled time, to walk-through with the inspector and ask questions along the way.

Q: How soon will I receive the inspection report?

A: We aim to deliver the inspection report within 24 hours after the inspection is complete, but usually even far less than that. Most reports are delivered within a few hours of completion.
